Privacy Policy
Phyllis Walker J. Hilburn Stylist Studio — J.Hilburn Independent Stylist
Effective date: September 3, 2026
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how Phyllis Walker J. Hilburn Stylist Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”), an independent J.Hilburn stylist, collects, uses, and protects the personal information of visitors to this website (the “Site”) and clients who work with us. Your use of the Site is also governed by our Terms & Conditions.
This Site is used to introduce our styling services, let clients book appointments, and collect contact information for follow-up and, where you have agreed, marketing updates. It is not an online store. When you place an order for J.Hilburn apparel, that transaction and any payment information you provide are handled directly by J.Hilburn’s own platform, under J.Hilburn’s own privacy policy — not this one. We encourage you to review J.Hilburn’s privacy policy separately before completing a purchase there.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you:
- Fill out a contact or booking request form on the Site
- Sign up for our email newsletter or style updates
- Opt in to receive text messages from us (see Section 5)
- Book an appointment through our online scheduling tool
- Correspond with us by email, text, or phone as a client
Depending on which of these you use, this may include your name, email address, phone or mobile number, mailing address (if provided for shipping-related coordination), sizing and style preferences, order and purchase history related to our styling relationship, and any other information you choose to share with us.
We do not collect payment card information through this Site.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to your inquiries and schedule or manage appointments
- Provide styling services and coordinate with J.Hilburn’s systems on order-related matters specific to your account with us
- Send you appointment reminders and service-related updates
- Send you marketing emails or text messages, but only where you have opted in (see Sections 4 and 5)
- Maintain our client records and improve how we serve you
- Meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile number or email address with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
4. Email Communications
If you sign up for our email list, we will send you style updates, promotions, and studio news. Every marketing email includes a clear way to unsubscribe. Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending marketing emails within the time required by the CAN-SPAM Act (10 business days), though we may still email you directly about an appointment or order you have with us. Our marketing emails identify who they are from and include our contact address.
5. Text Messaging (SMS) Program
Our text program is for existing clients — people who have previously purchased from Phyllis in the studio. We use it to remind you of upcoming appointments, prompt you to schedule your next fitting, and tell you about client-only events. You join by affirmatively agreeing: most clients do so verbally in the studio when asked, and you may also opt in by signing our sign-up sheet or checking the consent box on our online form. We do not purchase, rent, or import third-party phone lists. Our full consent language is on our Text Message Program page. The key points:
- Consent is separate from being a client. Having placed an order, or having your number on file, does not by itself enroll you in texts — we only message numbers whose owner has affirmatively agreed, in person or in writing.
- Every message can be stopped. However you joined, every text we send supports replying STOP, so the opt-out is always available to you in writing.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for help. After you reply STOP you will receive one confirmation message and no further texts from us unless you opt back in.
- We do not share your mobile number with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes, and mobile opt-in data is not sold or shared with anyone.
- Carrier and messaging fees may apply based on your mobile plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. Cookies and Analytics
This Site does not use advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or third-party analytics cookies. It is a set of static pages and sets no tracking cookies of its own. Our website host records standard server request information (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operational purposes. If we add analytics in future, we will update this section before doing so.
Pages you reach by following a link away from this Site — our booking tool, or J.Hilburn’s own site — are governed by their own privacy policies and may set their own cookies.
7. How We Share Information
We work with a small number of service providers to run this business:
| J.Hilburn | Order fulfillment and management of client records tied to our stylist account in J.Hilburn’s Stylist App/CRM |
|---|---|
| HighLevel (LeadConnector) | Our client CRM, email and SMS messaging platform, and appointment scheduling |
| Zoho Bookings | Online appointment scheduling |
| GitHub Pages | Hosting for this website |
These providers process information on our behalf to deliver the services above; they are not authorized to use your information for their own independent marketing. We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect our legal rights.
8. Data Retention
We retain client and marketing-consent records for as long as needed to provide our services, maintain accurate business and tax records, and demonstrate compliance with consent requirements. This includes SMS opt-in and opt-out records, which we retain even after an opt-out, solely to honor that opt-out and avoid re-contacting you.
9. How We Protect Your Information
We take reasonable administrative and technical precautions to protect the information you share with us, including relying on our providers’ own security safeguards for the systems that store your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
This Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- Email: unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- Text: reply STOP to any text message, at any time.
- Access or deletion: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details in Section 13 — subject to what we are required to retain for legal, tax, or consent-recordkeeping reasons.
- Texas residents have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal data we hold, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. To exercise a right, contact us using Section 13; you may appeal a refusal by replying to our response.
- If you live in a state with its own consumer privacy law (for example California or Colorado), contact us and we will honor the rights available to you under that law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes affecting how we use previously collected information will be communicated to active subscribers.
